DUNA-USA Conducting “Spirit of Christmas” Sign Design Contest

21.11.2016

DUNA-USA is proud to announce the creation of a 2016 “Spirit of Christmas” sign contest, consisting of ten signmakers that will be expressing what the “Spirit of Christmas” means to them onto a 3-dimensional sign using high-density CORAFOAM® HDU.

DUNA-USA has committed to providing a 2’ x 3’ x 2” piece of 20lb CORAFOAM U200 to each of the companies, with the only regulations of the contest being that the project must be roughly that size, and must adhere to a “Spirit of Christmas” theme. CORAFOAM U200 was selected due to its excellent workability, ability to produce precise edges, and compatibility with all surface coatings and solvents.

The contestants have until the 14th of December to finish their creation, and will be submitting pictures and an explanation describing their sign and how it relates with the contest theme.

Judging will be conducted by a judging team of three people consisting of Roger Cox, owner of House of Signs, Jeff Wooten, senior editor of Sign Builder Illustrated, and Brad Burnett, HDU Sales Representative of DUNA-USA.

At the culmination of the contest, the participants will be shipping their entrees to various children’s hospitals throughout the US, to provide decoration for Christmas-themed December events, and ultimately to be auctioned for charity.

DUNA-USA has partnered with Sign Builder Illustrated to produce a feature article in 2017 covering the contestants and their entrees. DUNA-USA will also be featuring them on our website.

The top three entrees will win an Ipad pro, GoPro Hero, and gift basket from Italy respectively.

Good luck to the contestants and stay tuned for more information!
