DUNA FOR “OCCIDENTE” WITH NATHALIE TOCCI AND DAVIDE NITROSI

30.09.2025
DUNA Group is proud to sponsor the Circolo Culturale Primo Piano of Correggio, which organized the meeting "OCCIDENTE: Chronicle of a Death Foretold?", an open dialogue between evolution and new scenarios, led by two exceptional guests:
Nathalie Tocci, a graduate of University College Oxford in political science and a master's and doctorate from the London School of Economics, has worked for the Robert Schuman Centre of the European University Institute, the Centre for European Policy Studies in Brussels, and the Transatlantic Academy in Washington. She served as Special Adviser to the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs. An honorary professor at the University of Tübingen, she is a columnist for the newspapers La Stampa and The Guardian. Since 2017, she has been the director of the Istituto Affari Internazionali in Rome. Her latest book is "La Grande Incertitude – Navigating the Contradictions of the Global Order," published by Mondadori in 2024.
Davide Nitrosi, journalist and deputy editor of Quotidiano Nazionale (Il Resto del Carlino - la Nazione - Il Giorno).
On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 8:30 PM, at the Asioli Theater in Correggio, we will discuss the decline, if not the defeat, of the West, as it has been experienced since the late twentieth century whereas declining economy and demographics, political shortsightedness, social nihilism, and participatory fatigue represent serious symptoms. Today, autarchic arrogance, the war in Ukraine, the tragedy in the Middle East, and the fragility of a torn Europe seem like the chronicles of a death foretold. Will it really end like this? Or can we hope that the horizon of meaning of the Western world, or of a still-reactive part of it, can reshape a peaceful coexistence between peoples and countries?
Free admission. Reservations are welcome at the Teatro Asioli Box Office (0522 637813– biglietteria@teatroasioli.it ). For more information, please visit the Primo Piano event page at https://www.primo-piano.info/
