NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR CORAFOAM® LD

29.09.2025
Who says investment is no longer being made in Europe? DUNA Group recently made a significant investment in the CORAFOAM® LD (low density) foam cutting system at its Modena headquarters, in line with the company's strategy aimed at technological excellence and sustainable business processes. This investment will lead to significant energy and material savings, as well as improved cutting quality, productivity, and ergonomics for department operators.
Always committed to scientific and technological research, DUNA-Corradini successfully installed a new, state-of-the-art cutting line at its headquarters in Soliera (MO). This line is dedicated to processing low-density PUR and PIR boards under the DUNA brand, CORAFOAM® LD, with a density ranging from 32 to 80 kg/m3. This significant investment eliminates manual handling and increases productivity by +10%, significantly improving workstation ergonomics and service level to Customers.
Furthermore, the new line was conceived and designed with a priority on improving the environmental impact of the entire production cycle, with an estimated -20% reduction in energy consumption and up to -15% waste reduction, compared to more traditional technologies.
This investment is not only aimed at product and process excellence and the well-being of the operators but also in line with the broader “SFRIDO ZERO” project, the set of initiatives, investments and actions with which DUNA has been pursuing the progressive reduction of the environmental footprint of its products and company processes since 2015.
“Moving toward increasingly efficient and sustainable production processes represents one of the most significant challenges of doing business today” states Marta Brozzi, President and CEO of DUNA-Corradini SpA. “At DUNA, we have always placed our technical expertise and innovative drive at the service of our Customers, developing excellent, efficient solutions with increasing reduction of the environmental impact," says Guido Campolongo, CTO. He adds, "The new cutting line, dedicated to low density cutting recently implemented, represents another milestone in the continuous improvement of our products and processes. Our goal is to respond even more specifically to the needs of our Customers and Collaborators, supporting the growth that we intend to sustain in the years to come."
