SAFETY: A DEFIBRILLATOR FOR DUNA AND THE TERRITORY

30.07.2020

In DUNA-Corradini a defibrillator has been positioned and is available in case of need for employees, but also for the 118 territorial emergency network.

A semiautomatic defibrillator (AED) is now available in DUNA-Corradini: a life-saving device, specially created for non-healthcare personnel, which allows to intervene in case of sudden cardiac arrest.

The device is registered with the public AED network, and is therefore available to the emergency network 118 in case of need. The presence of a semiautomatic defibrillator within 5 km of trained healthcare professionals, in fact, is able to double or triple the hope of survival following a heart attack.

In the past, DUNA-Corradini donated two defibrillators to the town of Correggio (RE) which are still located in the historic center today. Both initiatives are part of the Emilia-Romagna Region DAE118ER project which promotes the progressive diffusion and use of semiautomatic defibrillators. That initiative has proudly exceeded the quota of 6000 units.
