Payette Brewery

There is a little more than just beer brewing up at Payette Brewery, but the good news is, they’re only changing their look and not their recipe!

Payette Brewery has an interesting history in that its founder Mike Francis left his job as an industrial engineer for Boeing Company in Seattle to pursue his dream of brewing beer. He went on to graduate from Brewing Technology Chicago Siebel Institute and moved back to his home city of Boise, Idaho to establish Payette Brewing Company. Its location next to the Boise River makes it the perfect place to stop in and enjoy a delicious craft beer and scenic view.

As the largest brewery in Idaho that includes a taproom, canning room and brew house, Payette needed a sign as powerful as their operation and Trademark knew just what to do. They decided to use CORAFOAM® HDU for large-scale dimensional letters on multiple faces of the building.

Jason Keeble, co-owner of Trademark, used a AXYZ Intl. CNC router with a v-bit to achieve optimal depth and texture. In order to capture the likeness of Payette’s brand, Trademark drew by a hand a rustic wood grain pattern and used ArtCam routing program to achieve the wood grain texture. The letters were finished with ultra-low VOC Matthew’s paint adding to the texture and depth of the letters.

Trademark is a full service design and fabrication studio specializing in experiential design, architectural signage, branding and identity, specialty fabrication, and public art. John Yarnell, also a co-owner of Trademark, originated from California and was presented an offer to run a design studio in Boise, Idaho. John was introduced to Jason Keeble, one of the designers at the local design studio and the two hit it off instantly sharing a passion for professional cycling and similar aesthetic when it came to design.

Jason’s love for painting and design introduced him to his first job in the sign industry. Jason utilized his skills as an artist, primarily painting murals, windows, and hand-lettering. Over the years he mastered the art of dimensional design eventually landing a job in Boise, Idaho working as a designer and fabricator for a local design studio where he first met John. Jason offers over 20 years of experience in the industry specializing in fine art, design, and specialty fabrication.

In 2009, the two took a leap of faith leaving the design studio to form Trademark Sign Company. Starting as a small sign shop out of John’s garage, the two now have 12 full time employees and have evolved into a full service design and fabrication studio now called Trademark Creative.

“CORAFOAM® has allowed us to fully express our artistic vision for projects, with the ease of hand carving, smooth finish and its ability to withstand the wear and tear of the elements. CORAFOAM® HDU has served as the product of choice for our dimensional signage needs. “ – Jason Keeble

Trademark thoroughly enjoyed working alongside Payette Brewing Company helping to elevate their brand to the next level, creating a lasting impression and instilling a sense of place for its visitors.
